The Chandigarh State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has ordered attachment of the Sushma Chandigarh Grande project in Zirakpur in proceedings to recover consumer dues from Sushma Buildtech Limited and its directors.
What the Commission ordered
The August 31, 2026 order directs the Deputy Commissioner-cum-Collector, Mohali, to attach the project property and appoint a receiver for recovery of the decretal amount.
Why the case matters
The action follows an earlier consumer case in which the developer was directed to hand over a residential unit and pay interest and compensation, but the order was not complied with.
The record shows a consumer had paid about ₹90 lakh against a ₹1.01 crore property but did not receive possession.
What homebuyers should watch
- How the attachment and receivership are implemented.
- Whether affected consumers receive recovery under the commission’s process.
- Any further court challenges by the developer.
- Whether other purchasers have similar enforceable claims.
